1D for free: Boy band will give away new single ahead of album release

One Direction fans have been given 24 hours to download the band’s new single for free ahead of the release of the boy band’s fourth album. The stars say they are giving away “Fireproof” as a “thank you” to their fans who have been loyal to them since they first got together on the “X Factor.” One Direction’s next album, “Four,” comes out on Nov. 17.

Because you have supported us so much, we wanted to give a little something back.

"Fireproof" has been written by the group’s Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne along with the songwriting team of John Ryan, Jamie Scott and Julian Bunetta, who were behind the hit "Story Of My Life." In a statement on the quintet’s website the musicians said: "We hope you enjoy it and we can’t wait for you to listen to the album in full. Thank you, you guys mean the world to us.
