A clipboard but no hazmat suit: The mystery man with the U.S. Ebola nurse

A man has been spotted helping a nurse in the U.S. with Ebola board a flight to a specialist unit - without wearing a hazmat suit or indeed any protective equipment. The man, who is carrying a clipboard, comes within feet of Amber Vinson, who is now being treated in isolation in Atlanta, Georgia. He is seen handling items given to him by a person wearing protective clothing. Ebola is contracted through contact with an infected person’s bodily fluids, and it is not airborne.

He needs to be put on watch the second the plane lands so he does not infect anyone in Atlanta.

It is the latest Ebola controversy. Ms Vinson travelled on a commercial flight from Cleveland, Ohio, to Dallas, Texas even though she was showing the early symptoms of ebola - then she told officials she was running a temperature and now the race is on to track the other 132 other passengers on the plane. There was also a catalogue of mistakes and “breaches of protocol” in the treatment of Thomas Eric Duncan, the only person to have died of the virus in the U.S. so far.
