Bourne redundancy? Matt Damon, Paul Greengrass in new movie talks

Matt Damon and British director Paul Greengrass are reported to be in talks about making a new Bourne film. Sources have told Deadline that Universal Pictures is hoping to bring the pair back together for a fourth instalment about the CIA agent Jason Bourne. Greengrass, who directed the second and third films, and Damon have previously said they would never bring the amnesiac assassin back to the big screen.

I’ve always been open to it if Paul Greengrass is the director.

The Bourne Identity was released in 2002 followed by The Bourne Supremacy in 2004 and The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007. The films were based on the novels by Robert Ludlam. The series also sparked a spin-off film, The Bourne Legacy, which starred Jeremy Renner as spy Aaron Cross. Universal was working on a sequel to that film but it is not known if this will be abandoned to make way for the new Damon film.
