Breaking: IS militants reportedly release video of beheaded Japanese citizen

Japan’s government is investigating a new message purported to be from the Islamic State group holding two Japanese hostages. According to the SITE Intel Group, which monitors terrorist activity, Haruna Yukawa, a security contractor, was beheaded. The other hostage, journalist Kenji Goto, is still being held as a prisoner, and is being used by IS militants as a chip for a prisoner exchange. The video which varied greatly from previous videos released by the Islamic State group.

This is an outrageous and unforgivable act.

The militants had previously demanded a $200 million ransom for the 47-year-old Goto and 42-year-old Yukawa. Japan has scrambled for a way to secure the release of Goto, a journalist, and Yukawa, an adventurer.
