Burglary rap: Vanilla Ice, the DIY king, accused of stealing from neighbor’s house

Vanilla Ice has been released from custody in Florida after being charged with breaking into and stealing from an abandoned home. The longtime rapper who’s reinvented himself as a reality TV home-renovation star was arrested after police said he stole furniture, a pool heater and other items from a neighbor’s home in South Florida. The Lantana Police Department also said it had searched his home earlier in the day and found other items that had been stolen in recent months. The home, which is under construction, is also where the artist is shooting his latest venture, a reality TV show for the DIY Network called “The Vanilla Ice Project.”

I mean, the guy’s rich. Why would he steal? But you never know what people do.

The 47-year-old was charged on Wednesday with grand theft and the burglary of a residence. He was released from the Palm Beach County Jail that night on a $6,000 bond. He told West Palm Beach TV station WPTV that the situation was a “misunderstanding” that’s been “blown out of proportion.”
