Chip-hop off the old block? 21-year-old claims he is rapper Jay Z’s son

Jay Z is caught up in a court battle with a 21-year-old aspiring rapper who claims to be his son. Rymir Satterthwaite has launched a legal battle to force the 45-year-old hop hop star – whose real name is Shawn Carter – to take a paternity test. Rymir claims Jay Z had an affair with his mother in the early 1990s and is his biological father, according to English newspaper The Sun.

Right now I can’t talk to you about it. We plan to talk to the public soon.

Lillie Colley, Rymir’s godmother

The lawsuit, filed through Rymir’s legal guardian Lillie Coley, claims Jay Z’s refusal to acknowledge him has caused him emotional and financial damage. Rymir’s mother Wanda filed a similar case in 2010 but it was apparently thrown out when a judge ruled the New Jersey court did not have jurisdiction over Jay Z. The new civil suit alleges the star lied about his legal residence in order to avoid taking the test. In 2011 Jay Z denied reports he had fathered a child with a model named Shanelle Scott.
