Django Unchained actress Misty Upham found dead in ravine after going missing

A body found by police in Washington state is presumed to be that of missing Django Unchained actress Misty Upham. The discovery was made in a wooded area at the bottom of an embankment near the White River in Auburn by a friend of Ms Upham’s family who had been looking for her. The 32-year-old actress was last seen 10 days ago when she left her sister’s apartment in Muckleshoot, Seattle. She’d moved to the city to look after her father Charles who had suffered a stroke.

So so sad to hear this news - all our thoughts are with her family and with her beautiful spirit.

Her father told a radio station his daughter had recently stopped taking medication for anxiety and there were reports she was suicidal. Although the body has yet to be formally identified and the cause of death established, a purse containing the actresses’ identification was found nearby. As well as playing the role of Minnie in Django, Ms Upham’s credits also include the role of Lila Littlewolf in Frozen River and Mrs Blue Cloud in Skins.

The Auburn Police Department states there is no initial evidence or information to indicate foul play; however the Medical Examiner will make the final determination.
