Ed Sheeran’s off to Summer Bay! Pop star makes Home And Away debut

Singer Ed Sheeran has made his debut in Australian soap Home And Away. Viewers see him walking on the beach talking to cast member Marilyn Chambers, played by Emily Symons. Sheeran plays one of the children Chambers was nanny to when she lived in the UK. “This is nice here, you’ve done well,” Sheeran can be heard saying to Chambers. During the scene, Matt Page (played by Alec Snow), runs up to them and asks Sheeran if he’d do a song for the residents of Summer Bay. Talking about his role, Sheeran said: It’s an Australian institution. It’s always on in my local chip shop.

I got asked to do it and it sounded like it could be fun. I did Shortland Street in New Zealand as well and I’m sure if Emmerdale or EastEnders ever ask me in England I would do that as well.
