French tourist is gored to death at bull running festival

A French tourist has died after being gored during a festival in which bulls are released on to the streets of a town in Alicante province, Spain. The 44-year-old tourist, who was identified only by the initials L.O., suffered serious injuries during the run at the Bous al Carrer, or Bulls in the Street, festival in the town of Pedreguer. He died at the scene early on Tuesday, according to the town hall. The man had been in the town with a group of friends to watch the festival when he was charged and gored by a bull. The event has since been cancelled “as a sign of mourning for the death of the visitor”.

Doctors could do nothing to save him and pronounced him dead at the scene.
