Game of Thrones wins Guinness World Record for largest TV drama simulcast

Game of Thrones has made the Guinness Book of Records for the largest TV drama simulcast. This comes after episode two of season five was broadcast in 173 countries simultaneously. Actress Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark in the show, picked up the award on behalf of the show. Singers Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara and boyband One Direction have also secured records. Sheeran’s accolade is the “longest time to reach number one” on the UK singles charts. His single Thinking Out Loud took 19 weeks to top the charts. His close friend and music star Swift has been awarded the title for most million selling weeks on the US albums charts.

So pleased for Game of Thrones to be a part of Guinness World Records, I’m not going to tell my step brother as he gets the book every year for Christmas.
