Good-guy Tom Hanks tweets student: ‘I’ve Got Your ID’

Tom Hanks has taken to social media to reunite a college student with her lost ID card. “Lauren! I found your Student ID in the park. If you still need it my office will get to you. Hanx,” the Hollywood star tweeted on Tuesday. He posted the message along with a photo of the young woman’s identity card issued by Fordham University in New York City. By Tuesday evening the post had been retweeted thousands of times and favourited more than 10,000 times.

The Forrest Gump star drew praise from his followers for the gesture. “You’re just awesome,” one person replied to the original tweet. The two-time Oscar winner was on the receiving end of a similar act of kindness not long ago. He tweeted in March: “A guy named Tony found my credit card on the street in NYC and returned it! Tony! You make this city even greater! Thanx. HANX.”
