His cover has been blown: Sam Smith records James Bond theme song

Sam Smith has confirmed he will sing the theme song for the new Bond movie, Spectre. The song is called Writing’s On The Wall and will be unveiled on 25 September. British star Smith dropped a massive hint on Monday when when he tweeted a picture of a ring featuring the Spectre logo. He confirmed the news today in a series of tweets in which he described it as “one of the highlights of my career”. Spectre producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said it would “surely be considered one of the greatest Bond songs of all time”.

Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Paloma Faith and Lana Del Rey were some of the others rumoured to have been in the running.
