Israeli PM warns Congress of ‘grave threat’ from Iran’s nuclear programme

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has compared Iran to Nazi Germany in an historic speech to the U.S. Congress. “Iran’s regime poses a grave threat, not only to Israel but also to the peace of the entire world,” he said in remarks to the U.S. Congress. “Iran’s founding document promises the pursuit of jihad, and states are collapsing across the Middle East,” he added. He told U.S. lawmakers that “we must all stand together to stop Iran’s march of conquest, subjugation and terror.”

Today the Jewish people face yet another attempt by another Persian potentate to destroy us.

To a standing ovation from the house, Netanyahu said restrictions against Iran’s nuclear programme should continue until their aggression in the region came to an end, their funding of terrorism stopped, and their threats to annihilate Israel ceased. President Barack Obama did not attend the session.
