It could be 6 months before I can eat an apple, says battered UFC star Rousey

UFC superstar Ronda Rousey has broken her silence to admit she is months away from even beginning to think about getting into the Octagon again. The former bantamweight champ - who suffered a devastating defeat to Holly Holm last month - said: “It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact.” Rousey, 28, was hotly expected to continue her march through the UFC ranks but ran into a mule kick to the back of the head from 34-year-old Holm after being battered for much of the fight. She said she was still “really f****** sad” about the loss.

Maybe I can’t do it all before my prime, before my body is done, but maybe I can.

Rousey on regaining her title

UFC boss Dana White has confirmed Rousey gets an immediate rematch but that is likely to be delayed for her recovery from the injuries she suffered and her various commitments to movie projects, such as Expendables 3. However, in an interview with ESPN to be published today, Rousey says: “I need to come back. I need to beat this chick. Who knows if I’m going to pop my teeth out or break my jaw or rip my lip open again. I have to f*cking do it. It doesn’t matter. I have to do it.”
