I’ve done nothing wrong: Chris Brown begs the Philippines to let him leave

Hip hop star Chris Brown is begging for help in getting out of the Philippines, where he is stuck after getting caught up in a legal wrangle. Describing his plight as “a very serious situation”, the 26-year-old singer insisted on Twitter he has done nothing wrong. Earlier, in a video posted on Instagram, Brown is seen on his knees pleading to be allowed to fly out. “Please, please, let us leave, please,” he asked, appearing to send a thinly veiled distress signal to the U.S. president as he captioned the post: “OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!”

Can somebody please tell me what… is going on? I don’t know, I’m reading headlines after headlines.

Chris Brown

Brown was barred from leaving Manila after fraud allegations were made against him and his promoter over a cancelled New Year’s Eve concert. The complaint was brought by the indigenous Christian group Iglesia ni Cristo, which claims the star failed to appear at a show they had booked him for. In a video posted on Instagram, Brown was seen on his knees pleading to be allowed to fly out. “Please, please, let us leave, please,” he asked, appearing to send a thinly veiled distress signal to the U.S. president as he captioned the post: “OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!” His predicament could threaten upcoming dates on his world tour, with the back-flipping singer due to perform in Israel on 27 July and Cyprus a day later.
