Justin Bieber’s personal items on auction to help Canadian food bank

As part of an aggressive fallen star recovery campaign, troubled Justin Bieber’s battle for redemption continues with news that fans can buy some of his personal items on Ebay to help fund a food bank in his hometown of Stratford, Ontario in Canada. The auction began Saturday for a Toronto Maple Leafs comforter, a pillow case, a ceiling light, and a pair of Nike basketball shoes – signed by the pop singer – and all beginning at $500 each. The auction is being organised by Bieber’s grandparents, Diane and Bruce Dale, who donated the items to help Stratford’s House of Blessing food bank.

A few hours into the auction only two of the items had bids – the shoes and the comforter.

The Canadian Press reports

Bieber and his mother say they chose to donate to the food bank because the organisation helped them out in a past time of need. All items come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Bieber’s grandmother. Bieber’s comeback campaign began with a muted and contrite appearance on Ellen’s birthday show, followed by the release of an apology video. Yesterday, The Sun reported that he had agreed to quit alcohol and drugs – all with the support of his “pastor”, Carl Lentz.
