Knife-wielding teenager shot dead as he charges at checkpoint police

Israeli security forces shot and killed a Palestinian teenager who ran at them with a knife in the occupied West Bank on Saturday. The incident happened at a checkpoint when the youth holding a knife ran toward a security officer who called on him to stop. He failed to respond, said police, so he was shot dead. The boy was 18, his medical records showed.

When he did not heed those calls the security man shot toward him in order to neutralize him and as a result the terrorist was killed

The incident is the latest in a month of unrest, which has seen tit-for-tat stabbings and killings as tensions rise throughout the West Bank. Also on Saturday, police said they were looking into footage which has surfaced on social media, appearing to show a paramilitary police officer shooting a man lying on the ground, after he had carried out a stabbing attack in the West Bank city of Hebron on Thursday. In a separate incident, an Israeli paramilitary police officer was suspended from duty after he had driven through a West Bank refugee camp calling out through loudspeakers: “If you keep throwing stones at us we will shoot gas at you until you die.”
