Kuwait-bound plane diverted to Heathrow after six passengers fall ill

A plane travelling from New York to Kuwait City declared a state of emergency over Belgium and had to be diverted to the UK on Saturday morning. Flight KU118 landed at Heathrow airport, according to aviation website Air Live, after six passengers on board fell ill. Food poisoning has been blamed for the emergency.

Because of that terror attack in Kuwait yesterday, there is more reason to take note of a Kuwait bound jet turning round over Europe in midair and landing in London.

Before information became available, some media outlets speculated there may be a more serious reason for the diversion, given it came a day after a suicide bomber blew himself up during prayers at a Shiite mosque in the Kuwaiti capital, killing 27 people.
