Meet the Beast: Little-known company rolls out the next supercar

Your neighbor isn’t likely to have this Beast in this garage — and that’s exactly why Yahoo Editor at Large Alex Lloyd likes it so much. Well, the price —$165,000 — for California-based Rezvani Motors’ Beast isn’t bad either, considering the price of its comparable supercars such as the $845,000 Porsche 918 Spyder. Under the hood sits an upgraded version of a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine, featuring both a supercharger and turbocharger, good for 500 horsepower and a 0-to-60 mph sprint of 2.7 seconds.

We wanted to get back to the basics. We wanted to get back to a raw feel, a car with real tactile feedback, with a lightweight chassis.

Ferris Rezvani

The Rezvani Beast is based on the lightweight, track-focused Ariel Atom race car, but with a proper windshield, wilder angles and some rather useful fenders for consumers. Automaker Ferris Rezvani envisaged taking the Atom’s diminutive chassis and morphing into a more pleasant place to spend time outside of a racetrack.
