One person was killed and three injured as a series of explosions rocked a park in the Japanese city of Utsunomiya on Sunday. The victim’s badly burned body was found at a bicycle parking space for the park where a festival of traditional culture was being held. Two burned out cars were also seen nearby as a plume of smoke rose above the scene. One witness told said that he “smelled gunpowder in the area”. The cause of the blasts was not clear although police believe they are linked.
