Manny Pacquiao has undergone surgery on his injured right shoulder following his loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr in the clash billed as the Fight of the Century. The 36-year-old’s spokesman Fred Sternburg expects Pacquiao to be back in the ring. The operation came four days after the Filipino fought Mayweather at the MGM Grand hotel in Las Vegas, where he lost after a unanimous 12-round decision.
I could not be more pleased with the results.

Pacquiao asked for a pain-killing injection in his shoulder before the fight, but was refused permission by Nevada boxing officials because they were not previously aware of the injury. He had suffered the injury during training three weeks before the fight, and said he suffered a relapse during the fourth round of the contest. Nevada boxing officials are considering taking disciplinary action against Pacquiao for not disclosing the injury on a form the day before the fight.
