Pilot killed as two planes collide and crash during air show in Switzerland

At least one person has died after two planes collided in mid-air at an airshow in northern Switzerland. The two aircraft were in a formation of three planes when they touched in mid-air and came down in the village of Dittingen on Sunday morning. The third plane, which was not involved in the collision, landed safely. One pilot was said to have been killed but one of the others managed to escape by parachute. The airshow was halted as rescue teams raced to the scene. It came a day after seven people were killed when a vintage plane crashed at the Shoreham Airshow in the UK. The Hawker Hunter jet nosedived onto the A27 at Shoreham, West Sussex, smashing into cars after it failed to pull out of a loop-the-loop stunt.
