Rapper charged as concert hall shooting leaves one dead and three wounded

A minor rap star has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting at a packed hip-hop concert where one person died and three others were injured. Troy Ave, whose real name is Roland Collins, was seen on surveillance footage firing a gun at Irving Plaza in Manhattan, according to police. The 29-year-old was identified from a short video showing a gunman bursting through the door of a VIP room, apparently chasing another man. As concertgoers hid under a counter, the gunman appeared to spot something before raising his gun and firing.

The crazy world of the so-called rap artists, who are basically thugs that basically celebrate the violence they did all their lives. Unfortunately, that violence oftentimes manifests itself during their performances

Police commissioner William J Bratton

The shooting happened at a concert hall where artist T.I. was set to perform. The man who was killed has been named as Ronald McPhatter, who was working as a security guard for the suspect. A 34-year-old man was shot in the chest, while a 26-year-old woman, named as aspiring r'n'b  singer Maggie Heckstall was hit in the leg. It was also reported that Troy Ave accidentally shot himself in the leg during the incident. Another three people were hurt in the melee as they tried to flee the violence.

I remember Ronald walking with us late nights talking to young men and women in an effort to steer them away from making bad, life-altering decisions. It pains me that he lost his life to gun violence
