Robbie Williams live tweets his wife’s labour as he sings ‘Let it go’

Singer Robbie Williams live-tweeted his wife in labour, posting videos of actor Ayda Field on her hospital bed before proudly announcing the birth of a son on Tuesday. One video showed him singing the theme to a Disney film as Field took deep breaths and pushed, before asking “Can you please stop singing Frozen?” The commentary concluded with a clip of the parents welcoming their new son.

I’ve never been more in love and never been more proud of my wife, she’s been absolutely astonishing.

The couple, who have a daughter Theodora, said they were still considering names for their son. Williams revealed their new baby weighed 8lbs 1oz - before being corrected by his wife who said their boy was 8lbs 2oz. “Every ounce counts, trust me,” she said. Stoke-born Williams first hit the headlines in Take That but quit the group in 1995 and embarked on a hugely successful solo career. He married Ms Field in the grounds of his Beverly Hills mansion in August 2010 and their daughter was born two years later.
