Saudi Arabia has arrested 93 people suspected of belonging to the Islamic State, including at least 65 Saudi nationals, the interior ministry said in a statement carried on the official Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday. The arrests come after the earlier detention of Nawaf al-Enezi, a 29-year old Saudi citizen and suspected IS member who allegedly killed two policemen in the capital, Riyadh. Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Mansour al-Turki said al-Enezi was taken into custody early on Tuesday morning after being found in a hideout about 100 kilometres east of Riyadh. He said al-Enezi was wounded by police gunfire during the arrest.
