Scores killed and hundreds injured in crush during Hajj pilgrimage

Up to 150 people are reported to have died and hundreds more have been injured in a crush during a pilgrimage to Mecca. The crush happened at Mina, outside the Muslim holy city where some 2 million people are at the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Civil defence officials say that some 390 people had been injured. Rescue operations were under way, they added. The stampede occurred on the first day of Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice.
