A man who disappeared 30 years ago is set for an emotional reunion with his mother after he suddenly remembered his name. Edgar Latulip, who was 21 when he walked out of a special home in Kitchener, Ontario in 1986, told his social worker last month he could recall who he was. A DNA test confirmed he was indeed Mr Latulip, who was a troubled, sometimes suicidal youth with a mental age of 12 when he vanished. His mother Silvia Wilson, who later moved to Ottawa, said she didn’t know what to think when she was told he had been found. "I was just kind of blown away,“ the 76-year-old said.
I want to talk to him and help him out any way I can. I just want to see him

Mr Latulip, who was on medication, has not been seen his disappearance and his mother feared he might have been murdered. He ended up living with a different identity 75 miles away from where he vanished. Niagara Regional Police Constable Philip Gavin said Mr Latulip, pictured above on a missing person’s website, suffered a head injury after a fall around the time he went missing. It impaired his memory so badly he could not remember who he was, so he created a new identity. "I’ve been a police officer for 18 years and this is something I’ve seen on TV but never been a part of,” Mr Gavin added..
