Thanks, Obama: U.S. President makes joke video to sell health insurance

President Barack Obama uses a selfie stick, strikes funny poses in front of a mirror and plays imaginary football in a new video aimed at reaching young people. The video, produced by BuzzFeed, is seeking to encourage young Americans to sign up for government’s health insurance. ”The deadline for signing up for health insurance is February 15,” the President rehearses. Called Things Everybody Does But Doesn’t Talk About, the video shows the President making faces in front of a mirror, eating milk and cookies, and shooting invisible hoops.

Yolo, man

The President mocks himself in the video

Obama also puts his selfie stick to good use as he tries to capture the perfect presidential snap. He struggles to say the word “February” before getting it right. The video marks the latest attempt by the President to reach out to younger demographics in his attempt to promote his signature health programme, healthcare.gov. He has also appeared in a Funny Or Die video and has been interviewed by YouTube stars.
