US rapper Bobby Ray Simmons Jr, better known as B.o.B, has told critics to look at the evidence and “grow up” after insisting on Twitter that the world is flat. Over the last few days the American rapper has been presenting his case in a stunning series of tweets. “I’m going up against the greatest liars in history …you’ve been tremendously deceived”, he has told his 2.3 million followers. The rapper, who is famous for hits such as Nothin’ on You, Airplanes and Magic, tweeted numerous pictures of flat horizons in an effort to prove his point.

He also argued that if the Earth was in fact curved, distant cities and landmarks would be hidden from view. "No matter how high in elevation you are… the horizon is always eye level … sorry cadets… I didn’t wanna believe it either,“ he wrote. B.o.B’s comments have caused a considerable buzz and have even prompted a response from the well-known US astrophysicist, cosmologist Neil deGrasse Tyson, who poured cold water on B.o.B’s claims in an amusing exchange. Not everyone is quite so sceptical, with one starry eyed follower tweeting: "At first I didn’t believe you, but you’ve helped me see the light, forever grateful Bob”.
