Gone are the days of a simple Like on Facebook. Now you can tell the world exactly how you feel about a post. The social media giant said on Wednesday that its Reactions feature had been rolled out worldwide. It follows a successful trial in Spain and Ireland of seven extra emotions including Angry, Sad and Wow. The final version has trimmed two, Yay and Confused, from the list. They can be accessed by a long press of, or hovering over, the Like button.
Everyone’s had one of these posts in News Feed where they’re like, I want to respond in some way, but ‘like’ doesn’t feel appropriate at all

The new emotions do not include a Dislike option, which many users have been calling for. “I think … ‘anger’ and ‘sad’ actually covered a lot of what we saw people trying to convey,” said Tom Alison, director of engineering for the News Feed. But the emotions will apply to ads as well as news feed items, so it will be possible to let Facebook know which you find most annoying. The new feature will be available on iOS and Android phones beginning Wednesday as part of a free app update.
