Two more suspects charged in Belgium over links to Paris terror attacks

Two new suspects have been charged over the Paris attacks which left 130 people dead. The pair appeared before a court on Thursday and would remain in custody for a month, officials in Belgium said. One suspect, a 20-year-old Frenchman, knew Bilal Hadfi, one of the suicide bombers who blew himself up at the French national stadium. He was held for questioning at Zaventem airport, north-west of Brussels, as he was about to fly to Morocco on Sunday. The second suspect, a 28-year-old Belgian, was arrested the same day in the Brussels district of Molenbeek, where several of the gunmen lived.

Eight people are now being held over the synchronised gun and bomb attacks on 13 November - the worst attack on French soil in more than half a century. Police are still hunting for 30-year-old Salah Abdeslam, who may have slipped out of Europe and into Syria. On Thursday, French finance minister Michel Sapin said the attacks were likely to have cost no more than €30,000 (£21,400) to organise. They were financed using prepaid credit cards which were hard to track, he said. Also, Hungary said one of the main organisers of the attacks passed through Budapest before the killings.

I can confirm that … based on current information of the Hungarian secret services, one of the chief organisers of the Paris attack … had been in Budapest
