Two-timer: Could you be this Mexican politician’s body double?

A Mexican state politician is looking for a body double so he can be in two places at once and cope with his “many obligations”. Renato Tronco Gomez, an independent deputy in the eastern state of Veracruz, said the idea would help his constituents. The contest winner will have to study the way he speaks and acts, but engagements like attending the state legislature or sleeping with his wife will be off limits, Mr Tronco Gomez said.

I am not trying to fool anyone because my double will always identify himself as my double.

Mr Tronco Gomez said his double would not be able to attend parliament, because votes are conducted with a fingerprint and “I’m not going to cut off my finger to give it to my double”. The competition to find the double is being run through his Facebook page and his wife will play a crucial role in picking the winner. The winner will get $2,700 and training in how to speak and act like the politician. Four people have so far applied.
