A millionaire businessman is facing the death penalty after being convicted of murder for ramming his car into a security guard. Cigarette tycoon Muhammad Nisham, 39, attacked the guard, known only as Chandrabose, because he was slow to open the gate to his apartment complex. “It was a short hearing and the court found the accused, Nisham, guilty of murder,” prosecutor Udaya Bhanu said after the hearing in Indian’s Kerala state: “We have argued for the maximum penalty – death.” Judges also rejected Nisham’s bail plea, declaring the case was an illustration of how “the rich have become entirely egocentric and megalomaniacs”.
As Chandrabose turned to look back, the car came in full speed, rammed into him, crashing into the wall of the fountain
Statement by witness Anoop
Drunken Nisham beat the 50-year-old guard before ramming his Hummer into him against a fountain, his trial heard. The victim was left with multiple injuries and died three weeks later in hospital. Nisham, who will be sentenced on Thursday, made his fortune from hand-rolled Indian cigarettes, and owns hotel and jewellery businesses in the Middle East. He faces a separate charge for allowing his nine-year-old son to drive a Ferrari in 2013, which caused outrage after he uploaded video of the incident on to YouTube.
Nisham should not be there in the world again. No one else should suffer because of him
