Committee members said their next step was to develop legislation stemming from the 32 findings in the report including a lack of support for communities to spot warning signs. The report comes the same day as President Barack Obama chaired a summit at the U.N. General Assembly highlighting the international community’s efforts to counter Islamic State. The study underlined the urgent need for a nationwide strategy to combat the threat and called for better information sharing within the United states and internationally.
