War photographer’s memoir on track for major motion picture

Warner Bros. has won a bidding war for the movie rights to “It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life of Love and War”, a memoir by Lynsey Addario. Jennifer Lawrence is attached to star in a package that also includes director Steven Spielberg. Addario is a photojournalist who has spent time in war zones ranging from Afghanistan to the Congo to Somalia. She is one of the few females in a predominantly male club and was also at one point kidnapped, which she discussed with Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric last month.

Every story takes its toll on me and leaves an impression on me.

"American Sniper" producer Andrew Lazar is on board the production as well. Last month, Addario told Yahoo News she’s still traveling the world, documenting war and  conflict, but admits she takes fewer risks these days now that she has a 3-year-old son to think about. Her work is a window into a world most would never otherwise see. But she insists that her job is to document, not to judge.
