War with Ukraine ‘unlikely’, says Putin

In an interview on state television, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he does not think”such an apocalyptic scenario” would happen, and that he also did not see the need for another meeting with France, Germany and Ukraine on peace in the region and that he hoped the accords agreed to in Minsk would be respected. Putin’s comments came after Ukraine had halted the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the frontline , blaming continuing attacks from pro-Russian rebels.

Given that the positions of Ukrainian servicemen continue to be shelled, there cannot yet be any talk of pulling back weapons.
