A leading Donald Trump ally has accused news anchor Megyn Kelly of being “fascinated with sex” for reporting on allegations the Republican presidential nominee had molested women. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich became involved in the bizarre spat played out on live TV on Tuesday night during The Kelly File on Fox News. “You are fascinated with sex and you don’t care about public policy. That’s what I get out of watching you tonight,” Mr Gingrich told Ms Kelly. “Me?” she replied with a laugh before the testy exchange continued for another two minutes.
You know what, Mr Speaker? I’m not fascinated by sex, but I am fascinated by the protection of women and understanding what we’re getting in the Oval Office

Mr Gingrich, an adviser to the Republican nominee, argued that the media had given too much attention to the women’s allegations against Mr Trump. He said if Ms Kelly was “worried about sexual predators”, she should worry about Bill Clinton being in the East Wing - the White House quarters used by a president’s spouse. Ms Kelly said she had covered the story and noted Mr Clinton was “not on the ticket”. Mr Trump has had a difficult relationship with Ms Kelly, accusing her of questioning him too aggressively during a TV debate, although they later appeared to have patched up their differences.
She gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions. You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever
