A right pain in the neck: Danish prince fractures bone on trampoline

It is a moment millions of parents the world over fear - a nasty fall when their child gets a bit carried away on the trampoline. Now, the same fate has befallen someone who should know a bit better - the Crown Prince of Denmark. The 48-year-old heir to the throne fractured a bone in his neck after coming a cropper while trampolining at a private party. He will have to wear a neck brace for the next 12 weeks, a palace spokesman said. He was forced to cancel a reception for Danish athletes who participated in this year’s Paralympic Games but will not miss other ceremonial duties. Frederik, the oldest son of Danish monarch Queen Margrethe, is an avid sportsman and a member of the International Olympic Committee.

I am naturally disappointed that I can’t participate in the reception today. I wish all of the participants a good day
