Porsche’s $1m sports car going fast – they’ll be gone by December

German car maker Porsche expects to sell out of its most expensive model ever built next month, bolstering earnings as it grapples with rising capacity costs. Porsche, which is owned by Volkswagen, only made 918 of the 918 Spyder Hybrid model, which has a starting price of $958,880, but optional equipment can run the price up to $1,177,347. Fewer than a hundred of the plug-in hybrid model are still available. The 918 Spyder was unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt auto show. Porsche has forecast it will increase overall sales to more than 200,000 next year from a record 162,000 in 2013, benefiting from its new Macan compact SUV released last April.
