Val Kilmer denies cancer rumours after Michael Douglas comments

Actor Val Kilmer has denied rumours of cancer after his friend and former co-star Michael Douglas said he was unwell. Kilmer told fans on Tuesday that Douglas was “misinformed” and he had not spoken to him in nearly two years. “I love Michael Douglas but he is misinformed,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

The last time I spoke to him was almost two years ago, when I asked him for a referral for a specialist to get a diagnosis for a lump in my throat, which prevented me from continuing a tour of my play.

Douglas, who worked with Kilmer on the 1996 film The Ghost and the Darkness, told a London crowd on Sunday that his friend was “dealing with the exact same thing” he had. The 72-year old actor, famous for his iconic portrayal of fictitious Wall Street magnate Gordon Gecko, was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2010. He said “things didn’t look too good” for the Batman Forever star, adding: “My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”
