Watch as bar owner holding baby fights off gunman

This is the moment a bar owner in France fights off an armed robber - while holding a newborn in her arms. The CCTV footage shows the woman sitting down with the child when the balaclava-clad intruder bursts into the bar holding a handgun and an open rucksack. The owner, Nathalie Leclerc-Pelan, then gets up from her stool and casually walks past the gunman, pushing the weapon and bag aside with the baby in her hands.

She then hands the child back to its mother, a customer, before taking on the masked intruder. Unintimidated, she snatches the bag off him before beating him off the premises with it. Another customer comes to her aid and hits the attacker with a stool. Two shots were reportedly fired, but no one was hurt. The incident took place at the Bocage Normand bar, in Champ-du-Boult, Calvados, Normandy, on Friday evening. A 21-year-old man has been arrested.
