A day in Obama’s life: Radiation guns, anarchists and other death threats

U.S. President Barack Obama receives about 30 death threats per day. Most of the threats are not credible, and not made public, but must be investigated by the Secret Service. Among those cases that have been made public include a plan to build a “death ray” to kill those considered enemies of Israel, including President Obama. Last year, U.S. authorities alleged Glendon Scott Crawford of Galway, N.Y., who worked for General Electric, had tried to build a “mobile, remotely operated, radiation-emitting device” to target victims with lethal doses of radiation. Another plot revealed in 2012 involved four soldiers who allegedly formed an anarchist militia within the US military with plans to overthrow the federal government and assassinate the president. The number of death threats Obama gets is a 400 percent increase from the approximately 3,000 threats per year faced by George W. Bush.

We have half the number of agents we need, but requests for more agents have fallen on deaf ears at headquarters.
