Developing: As many as 10 killed in Texas prison bus crash

Law enforcement officials say a bus carrying 12 prisoners and three corrections officers fell from an overpass in West Texas and crashed onto train tracks below. Fatalities are certain, but an exact number is not yet known. Department of Public Safety trooper Shawn Baxter, who is en route to the scene west of Odessa near Penwell, could not confirm details Wednesday morning but confirmed it was a fatal accident. Local media reported at least 10 people — two corrections officers and eight prisoners — have died. Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokesman Jason Clark says a train may have collided with the bus or been struck by it after the bus fell from the overpass. A spokeswoman says Medical Center Hospital in Odessa is treating five patients.
