Donald Trump attacks ‘Hillary flunky’ Meryl Streep over her scathing Golden Globes speech

Donald Trump has attacked Oscar-winner Meryl Streep on Twitter, after she used her Golden Globes acceptance speech to criticise Mr Trump’s impression of a disabled reporter during his campaign for the presidency. The President-elect called Streep “one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood”, accusing her of being a “Hillary flunky who lost big”.

It kind of broke my heart, and I saw it, and I still can’t get it out of my head because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life.

The billionaire, who will become President on 20 January, was apparently doing an impression of Serge Kovaleski when he waved his arms around erratically during a rally. The episode was widely criticised. Defending himself on Twitter, Mr Trump said he “never 'mocked’ a disable reporter”, he added he “would never do that”.
