So what will Michelle Obama turn out for? Turns out it’s a turnip. Video of the first lady dancing with a turnip has gone viral after the White House put it on her Twitter feed late Tuesday. The video was a response to actor and Barack Obama impersonator alphacat’s question to Mrs. Obama: “On average, how many calories do you burn every time you turn up?” Michelle Obama, a cool cat and a mover and shaker herself, responds: “Turnip, for what?” And then she proceeds to break it down. The video has been looped 7 million times as of Wednesday morning.

The first lady has become something of a campaigner-in-chief, most recently for Midwest candidates also including Wisconsin and Illinois, as well as in Detroit. Democrats have sought the first lady’s help even though many have avoided appearing with her husband, whose job approval rating has sunk to the low 40s. She is viewed positively by 62 per cent of the public, according to the most recent Pew Research Center survey.
