Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson poised to dive into new ‘Baywatch’ movie

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has confirmed he will star in the Baywatch movie. The Fast And Furious actor posted a message on Instagram to say the speculation is true, and that he is making a big screen version of the hit 90s TV show, which starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. The Hollywood Reporter said that Sean Anders and John Morris will direct the movie about lifeguards.

Paramount Pictures has been trying to make the film for a number of years. Johnson, a former WWE wrestler who often shows off his muscles in films, will play a lifeguard saving lives on a Santa Monica beach. It’s not known who else will star in the film and original cast members David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson are not thought to be linked to the project. Baywatch ran on television from 1991 to 2001. Its theme tune, I’m Always Here, has become a cult classic.
