E3: New Doom game and Fallout 4 date announced

Post-apocalyptic video game Fallout 4 will be released on 10 November, publisher Bethesda has announced. A reboot of Doom will also launch in spring next year, with a feature allowing gamers to create their own custom maps and modes. The details were revealed at Bethesda’s first ever news conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo - known as the E3 games show - in Los Angeles.

This level of extreme violence shouldn’t be considered normal. It’s not an excuse to say it’s expected because DOOM. That’s the problem.

The company is trying to position itself as a major player alongside the likes of Electronic Arts and Activision. Gameplay sequences from Fallout 4 were shown for the first time, along with a companion smartphone game called Fallout Shelter. Players will also spend more time in a 'pre-apocalypse’ world, which is a departure from previous games.

These creatures are fake. Their blood is fake. It is okay to want to kill fake things sometimes. Anger exists.
