Guilty: Korean Air executive sentenced in ‘nut rage’ case

A South Korean court on Thursday sentenced a Korean Air Lines executive to a year in prison for violating aviation law in December when she ordered a Seoul-bound plane to return to the gate in New York in order to remove the steward who had served her in the first-class cabin. Heather Cho, the daughter of Korean Air chairman Cho Yang-ho and the former head of in-flight service, was displeased by the way she had been served macadamia nuts. Cho, also known as Hyun-ah, avoided a possible maximum sentence of 10 years. The case garnered global attention and caused an uproar in South Korea.
