One For Arthur wins the 170th Grand National

Derek Fox rode 14-1 shot One For Arthur to victory in the 170th running of the Grand National. The Lucinda Russell-trained gelding enjoyed a thrilling sprint down the home stretch, having battled with Cause Of Causes over the final few fences. His 16-1 rival claimed second, with 25-1 shot Saint Are third and 8-1 favourite Blaklion, who led for much of the contest, fourth. One For Arthur becomes just the second Scottish horse to win the famous Aintree race, following Rubstic in 1979.

This is the best feeling I have ever had or probably ever will have and I want to take most of it in. I don’t often get a chance to ride a horse as good as that.
