Teenage relatives arrested after family stabbed to death in suburban home

Five people were found stabbed to death inside a well-kept suburban home before two teenage relatives were arrested, police said Thursday. The five bodies were in the house in Tulsa, Oklahoma, alongside a child in critical condition and another child who was unhurt. The two suspects, aged 16 and 18, fled the house as officers arrived but were tracked down by sniffer dogs in woodland a short distance from the property in the suburb of Broken Arrow. Police Sgt Thomas Cooper said: “The crime scene has taken a pretty heavy toll on officers who have come out here. Our officers have a lot to take in.”

It hits close to home, especially when the victims are adults and juveniles.

Property records showed the home was among the largest and most-expensive homes on the block. Neighbor Helen Hoagland, who has lived in the subdivision for 42 years, said two parents and five children lived in the home, and said she would sometimes see the mother walking with several children. Ms Hoagland said the children were home schooled and that the mother kept them on a tight leash. “We just have a great neighborhood. That’s just crazy; it’s absolutely crazy,” she added as she watched police work the crime scene before dawn.

This is a relatively safe community, smaller than Tulsa and what you might call a bedroom community
